Saturday night is going to be a special night for the Virginia Tech athletic department. That is where we'll begin this edition of Virginia Tech Hokies News.

Women's soccer visits Duke

Three games into the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament and the Hokies' are still chasing a national championship. After wins over Tennessee, UCLA, and Iowa, Virginia Tech will play in the Elite Eight on Saturday night.

The Hokies will be in Durham to play top-seeded Duke at 6 o'clock and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+. This season, Virginia Tech did not play the Blue Devils and will get their first look at them with a spot in the College Cup next weekend on the line.

Women's basketball to face Michigan

The middle game of the night for Virginia Tech fans is an interesting one when Megan Duffy and her women's basketball team will play Big Ten foe Michigan in the Championship Game of the Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off in the Shell Division at 7:30 and it'll be broadcast on the Women's Sports Network.

Michigan beat Belmont by 10 points, 68-58, in the first semifinal Friday afternoon before Virginia Tech had three players, Rose Micheaux, Carys Baker, and Kayl Petersen, each had 11 points in a 79-50 victory over Davidson. The Hokies are 6-1 with their only loss at the hands of Iowa earlier this month in Charlotte.
