It’s somewhat stunning that Virginia Tech is in this spot considering all the hype going into the season, but here we are. This will be the first game in Blacksburg between the two teams since 2018 and currently, Virginia Tech holds a 61-33-5 advantage in the series. This is a big game in terms of the future between the in-state rivals as recruiting will be affected by the result and the transfer portal with players entering and looking to come to either school. In-state recruiting might be one of the bigger effects of the outcome.
