Last June, Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry picked up his first commitment in the Class of 2026 when Nazareth, Pa. quarterback Peyton Falzone committed to the Hokies. The talented signal caller is a four-star and one of the top QBs in his class.

Five months after committing to Virginia Tech, Falzone de-committed from the Hokies to reopen his recruiting. It was a big loss for Pry, and it appears that despite Falzone's de-commitment from Tech, there is still an open line of communication between him and the coaching staff.

Tyler Bowen visits former Hokies commit Peyton Falzone

On his social media account, Falzone revealed that he got a visit from Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen on Tuesday, hopefully, a step in the direction of getting another commitment from the highly-touted player. Since he de-committed from Virginia Tech, the offers, to no one’s surprise, have been rolling in for him major programs. He has also visited schools such as Ohio State and Penn State.

Earlier this month, the Hokies picked up a commitment from wide receiver Cameron Sparks from Chattanooga, Tenn. He is the only commit in the class to date, although that period for the class and recruiting will peak this spring into the summer.

Virginia Tech will welcome freshman quarterbacks A.J. Brand from South Carolina and Kelden Ryan from Texas in the Class of 2025 to go along with Kyron Drones and Pop Watson who are also returning along with Davi Belfort to create a deep QB room.

Falzone is a player who would be a perfect fit for the Virginia Tech offense with his ability to throw the ball and make plays with his legs. Would he re-commit to the Hokies? Maybe, stranger things have happened, but as mentioned above, since is re-opened his recruitment, major programs have been after him. It’s clear that Pry and Bowen still think there is a chance that they can still get Falzone and they are still making a push. We’ll see how it ends up playing out when all is said and done, but you can’t say that Virginia Tech didn’t try.
