Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry continues to hammer away with success in one area

This is becoming a very good common theme.

It's been said before, but it can't be stressed enough. When Virginia Tech hired Brent Pry to replace Justin Fuente, the former Penn State defensive coordinator knew that if he was going to turn things around in Blacksburg, he was going to have to mend fences with the state of Virginia in terms of recruiting. It has taken some time, but he is slowly doing it along with his staff.

The last year has been a success recruiting through the transfer portal, and strides have been made with high school recruiting within the Commonwealth. On Sunday afternoon, Virginia Tech picked up a Class of 2026 commitment from three-star cornerback Zaevion Cleveland as the sixth commitment in the class. It also strengthens the pipeline between one high school and Blacksburg.

Green Run to Virginia Tech pipeline continues to grow under Brent Pry

So far in the Class of 2026, Virginia Tech has two Green Run commitments in Cleveland and edge Kamren Johnson, who committed last weekend. When both of those players took their visits to Blacksburg, they saw a lot of familiar faces.

Wide receiver Keylen "Brodie" Adams is a redshirt freshman on the 2025 Virginia Tech roster, and he is one player who has an opportunity to make an impact on the field, while incoming freshmen Zeke Chinwike, cornerback Knahlij Harrell, and wide receiver Jayden Anderson.

Pry and his staff have tirelessly spent time out on the road recruiting, but they are making Virginia a priority, and it is paying off just in the last 10 days with two commitments from Green Run. Landing the recruits from Virginia Beach is nice; however, the results need to start happening on the field better. There are going to be some more commitments, but visits are done until the 2025 season starts. The pipeline between Green Run and Virginia Tech is strong right now.
