The last weekend of visitors has come and gone, and this weekend, Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry and his staff hosted nearly a dozen recruits in Blacksburg from the Class of 2026, including some priority ones.
It didn't take long for one recruit who was on campus this weekend to quickly make his decision, and when the dust settles, it's another in-state commit from Virginia Beach. Furthermore, he picked Virginia Tech over two ACC schools, including their heated rivals.
Virginia Tech football picks up commitment from Zaevion Cleveland from Virginia Beach
Right after his visit to Virginia Tech, three-star cornerback Zaevion Cleveland committed to the Hokies over Syracuse and Virginia. Cleveland took visits to Syracuse and Virginia earlier this month before making Virginia Tech his final visit, and it proved to be the one where he ended up going. He is the second Gree Run High School commit in just over a week for Tech.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound cornerback caught up with a lot of former teammates during his visit, his second after visiting during the Hokies' Spring Game in April. This is a very big pickup and addition to the Class of 2026 for Pry and his staff.
Cleveland is the sixth addition to the Class of 2026 for Virginia Tech and the fourth in nine days for Pry. On June 13, edge Kamren Johnson committed, and one day later, another defensive lineman, Kamdon Gillespie, committed. Offensive lineman Buddy Wegdam committed to Virginia Tech last week.
This still may end up being a rather small class for Pry as compared to previous ones, but Cleveland is a nice pick-up in the secondary and keeps him away from two other ACC schools.
