Recruiting in the Class of 2025 has been going very well lately for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry. Recently, he has got commitments from cornerback Sheldon Robinson and defensive lineman Christian Evans.

Two weeks after Virginia Tech got a commitment from Robinson, a three-star quarterback in the Class of 2025 made a decision about his future and it came down to Virginia Tech and South Carolina with the Hokies coming out on top for the coveted AJ Brand.

AJ Brand commits to Virginia Tech over South Carolina

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Brand who is from Shane Beamer's backyard in South Carolina, picked the Hokies over the Gamecocks, Oregon State, Charlotte, Miami of Ohio, and others. This past week, 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction had Brand committing to Virginia Tech over South Carolina after he took an official visit on June 7. He was also receiving interest from North Carolina.

The Irmo High School standout is the No. 20 player in South Carolina and joins classmate and Virginia Tech commit Kelden Ryan, from DeSoto, Texas as the two quarterbacks committed to Pry in the Class of 2025. Bland was impressed with his visit to Blacksburg earlier this month and got to know offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen and hung out with current Hokies' QB Kyron Drones he told 247Sports.

"It was great, I loved the whole thing. I got to hang out with the players, the coaches, and the other recruits. We ate a good amount and spent time with my family. "

This brings Virginia Tech's total in the class to eight commitments and there are going to be more decisions on the way soon after a weekend full of priority recruits this weekend as the book is about to close on official visits.
