Sunday has turned into a busy day on the recruiting trail for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry. In the afternoon, the Hokies lost out on four-star safety Faheem Delane, who is the younger brother of current Hokie Faheem, after he committed to Ryan Day and Ohio State, which was no surprise.

There was some good news, however, for Pry and his staff as Virginia Tech got a commitment from an in-state three-star safety in the Class of 2025.

Pry has been making a dent within the state of Virginia in recruiting lately and that continued Sunday when three-star Class of 2025 safety Sheldon Robinson of Woodberry Forest committed to Virginia Tech over Virginia, Vanderbilt, and Duke to name a few.

"My parents have been telling me to keep God in my decision throughout my recruiting process and I believe God has led me to commit to VT. Also, I want to play for Coach P-Lo (Pierson Prioleau) because he has been where I want to go. He played in the NFL for 12-13 years and can help develop me to get there."

Robinson, who held 13 offers, had 60 tackles and six interceptions in 2023 as a junior and is the 39th-ranked safety in the country and the 16th player ranked in the state of Virginia in his class according to 247Sports. He is the fifth player in the Class of 2025 out of the state of Virginia to commit to Virginia Tech in his class as Pry continues to put a dent in recruiting in the Commonwealth.
