Conference Football Media Days are coming fast and furious around college football as we inch closer to August. This season, the 2024 campaign kicks off with Week 0 on Aug. 24, before Week 1 on Labor Day Weekend with Virginia Tech beginning the season at SEC foe Vanderbilt in Nashville.

This week, the ACC is in Charlotte for their media week that began on Monday with commissioner Jim Phillips speaking, followed by Florida State, Georgia Tech and first-year member SMU. Tuesday, Virginia Tech will be made available to the media with head coach Brent Pry and three players joining him in North Carolina.

Virginia Tech media day, how to watch, time

Pry is being joined in Charlotte by quarterback Kyron Drones, cornerback Dorian Strong, and defensive lineman Antwaun Powell-Ryland. The Hokies will have the spotlight on them on Tuesday along with Pittsburgh, Virginia, and the other two first-year members, Stanford and California. Here is the schedule of times each team will speak on Tuesday,

  • 10:00 a.m.: Pittsburgh
  • 11:00 a.m.: Virginia Tech
  • 12:45 p.m.: California
  • 1:15 p.m.: Stanford
  • 2:45 p.m.: Virginia

The ACC Network and ACC Network Extra will be providing all day coverage through Thursday.

Expectations are high in Blacksburg as Year 3 of the Brent Pry-era begins with the Hokies having a ton of retainment from a 2023 team that won six of their last nine games, including the Military Bowl, 41-20, over Tulane. Virginia Tech also added some key transfers on both sides of the ball that will add depth and big contributions.

Virginia Tech begins the season with their four non-conference games before switching to a full eight-game ACC schedule on Sept. 27 at Miami, then they will take a cross-country trip to California to play at Stanford on Oct. 5. That is certainly a tough travel schedule to begin the 2024 season.
