College football analyst has a strong take on why Virginia Tech fits the SEC

The ACC will hold its Football Media Days this upcoming week in Charlotte. There are going to be a number of topics discussed and I'm even sure realignment with Florida State and Clemson and the rest of the conference will come up.
This past week, the SEC held their Football Media Days and a lot of topics were discussed, including commissioner Greg Sankey saying that he's "paying attention to the ACC" when it comes to FSU and Clemson, but did say that he's not recruiting and looking to add to his 16 current 16 teams. If he does at some point, college football analyst David Pollack named two schools that would fit the SEC going forward.
David Pollock names Virginia Tech and NC State as teams that fit the SEC
Pollack joined the “Hot Mic w/ Hutton & Withrow” podcast in Dallas and said the conference should add Virginia Tech and North Carolina State to the conference and gave a compelling argument.
"You know who fits in the SEC? NC State and Virginia Tech. Those are teams that, you go to those games, those are SEC environments. Those are awesome shows, passionate college football fans, and you get those markets while not compromising the top of those markets. I could see those two teams being there."
- David Pollack
From a logistical standpoint, the SEC makes the most sense for Virginia Tech, but as we all know with this round of conference realignment with California and Stanford joining the ACC, it's not always about logistics. It's all about the money.
It feels like even though talks about Florida State and Clemson getting out of the ACC and moving is slowing down, it doesn't mean the doors are closed. If and when those schools leave, it will leave a ton of questions for the rest of the ACC and schools like Virginia Tech will have some decisions to make. In the overall big picture, Pollack is right, Virginia Tech is a fit for the SEC for the reasons he mentioned, but it's a lot easier said than done for them to end up there. Call me crazy, but I'll take a spot in the SEC.
