Thursday is the final day of the ACC Kickoff event in Charlotte, and we will finally hear from Brent Pry and four of his players. Just what is said remains to be seen, but here are three things we are looking for from the podium and interviews on the ACC Network.
One of the topics likely to be discussed multiple time with Pry and quarterback Kyron Drones will be his health. He missed the end of last season with injuries and then in the spring, he had his practices end early after undergoing a medical procedure.
Pry has not revealed what exactly Drones' injuries issues have been and there will more than likely be a lot of questions on it. Let's face it, his health is going to be huge this season for the Hokies if they want to look to rebound from last season's disappointing season and injuires. Again, Tech will go as Drones goes in 2025.
A second topic will likely be surrounding the coaching changes that happened. New offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery replaces Tyler Bowen, who left to become the offensive line coach at Ohio State. He has had success with dual-threat QBs in the past, and hopefully, he can unlock Drones' talent this season. New Defensive Sam Siefkes replaces Chris Marve, and he does so with a lot of turnover on that side of the ball. New offensive line coach Matt Moore is tasked with rebuilding the line on the fly. I'm sure there will be questions surrounding coaches.
Finally, don't expect much to be said. Pry never really says anything of importance, and I don't blame him. Some coaches are afraid to talk and say something at these events, but expect Pry and Bill Belichick at North Carolina not to say much that gives anything away. Don't expect much either from players Drones, Kelvin Gilliam, Donovan Greene, and Jaden Keller.
