One of the more underrated teams on Virginia Tech football's schedule in 2024 is Syracuse. The Orange hired Fran Brown to inject some life into their program and he hit the transfer portal hard. He ended up landing Ohio State transfer quarterback Kyle McCord who has certainly injected some life into Syracuse's offense through six games.

Last season, the Hokies rolled over the Orange at Home, 38-10, on a Thursday night in Blacksburg, and this season, Syracuse gets a chance at revenge at home at the JMA Wireless Dome. On Monday, the ACC announced the clash between Orange and Hokies would have a time placed on it next weekend.

Virginia Tech at Syracuse time placed in six day hold

On Monday, the ACC was supposed to release all the times for the Week 10 games, but they placed all the start times on a six-day hold until after the results of Week 9. This is Virginia Tech's second to last road game of the 2024 season as they will play at Duke on Nov. 23 after a bye week the previous weekend.

This week, Syracuse will play on Thursday night at undefeated Pittsburgh in what is a huge game between two teams still in the hunt for a berth in the ACC Championship Game in December in Charlotte. Virginia Tech returns to Lane Stadium to host Georgia Tech at noon for Homecoming on Saturday.

So far this season, Syracuse and Virginia Tech have one common opponent in Stanford. The Cardinal went to the Orange in September and stunned them on a last-second field goal and it is the only blemish to date on their record. Virginia Tech went out to Stanford on Oct. 5 and rolled to a 31-7 victory over the Cardinal. After this weekend, they will have two common opponents in Georgia Tech, who Syracuse beat at home in September.
