This week, the Virginia Tech football team will host Boston College on Thursday night at Lane Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN. What feels like is annual tradition, there is nothing better than a Thursday night football game in the fall in Blacksburg.

Both teams are coming in off of their first bye's of the 2024 season where each team will get two this season. It's the beginning of the second half of the season for both teams with the Eagles sitting at 4-2 and the Hokies at 3-3. Virginia Tech gets four of their final six games at Lane Stadium to close out the season and after this week's game, they will host Georgia Tech on Oct. 26. Monday, the ACC announced the kick-off time for the Homecoming Game.

Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech kick-off time announced for Oct. 26

On Monday, the ACC announced the kick-off times for the Week 9 games. Virginia Tech will host Georgia Tech at noon, and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network. The Hokies' remaining home games in 2024 in the conference are against Clemson on Nov. 9 and Virginia on Nov. 30, but this game with the Yellow Jackets will be just as interesting as those and the Thursday game against BC.

Georgia Tech is 5-2 after a thrilling 41-34 win over North Carolina this past Saturday with a long touchdown run in the final minute. The Yellow Jackets also own a season-opening win over Florida State in Ireland in Week 0 on a field goal as time expired.

This will be an interesting quarterback battle between Georgia Tech's Haynes King and Virginia Tech's Kyron Drones. The Yellow Jackets have an offense that can go up and down the field with the best teams in the conference, and another reason for their turnaround this season is the play of their defense.
