Two ACC football teams coming off of disappointing losses will meet on Saturday afternoon in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech suffered another devastating loss at Syracuse last Saturday when they blew a 21-3 third-quarter lead only to lose, 38-31, in overtime. Later that night, Clemson, coming off a bye, was beaten at home, 33-21, by Louisville.

Now both teams need to quickly pick things up and look ahead to a key showdown at Lane Stadium. For the Hokies, injuries are starting to pile up and pile quickly, while Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik has assured his teammates that he's going to prepare this week and be ready to play better after his performance last week against the Cardinals.

Who plays and what happens remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Virginia Tech's ACC Championship Game hopes were dashed by the Orange and the Tigers are on life support after losing to Louisville.

Virginia Tech vs. Clemson: History

This will be the 35th meeting all-time between the schools with the Tigers holding an 11-22-1 advantage. The last time the two teams met was in the COVID-19 2020 season and Clemson rolled to a 45-10 victory in Blacksburg. That day, quarterback Trevor Lawrence was 12-for-22 for 195 yards, a touchdown, and an interception for the Tigers. When the schedule was released last winter, there was a lot of hope that this game was going to have huge implications, but that's not the case.
