It's hard to believe, but we are at the final weekend of recruiting for recruits to visit before the 2025 season begins. For Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry, this is a vital weekend for the Hokies coach with the Class of 2026.

To date, the Hokies have five commitments in the class, and they have suffered two key losses when quarterback Peyton Falzone de-committed last November and wide receiver Carnell Warren followed suit last week. Both were four-star recruits. Falzone committed to Penn State, and Warren will be on a visit this weekend with Bill Belichick and North Carolina.

Pry has some ground to make up in recruiting with the Class of 2026, and getting some commitments from some recruits following their trip this weekend, when they are ready to make their decisions, would be big. There will be 11 recruits at last count expected in Blacksburg this weekend.

Virginia Tech football hosting 11 Class of 2026 recruits this weekend

  • Tyson Harley, DE
  • Kedric Golston, DE
  • Keysaun Eleazer, DE
  • Zaevion Cleveland, DB
  • Jaysean Richardson, DL
  • T-Ron Richardson, DL
  • D'Various Surratt, S
  • Adrian Hamilton, OL
  • Kentrell White, WR
  • Amare Gough, WR
  • Deston Mitchell, TE

This is a list that has some priority recruits on it. Tight end is a position that Pry has not been able to land many recruits with, and Mitchell would be considered a priority in terms of getting a tight end in the class.

As far as the rest of the recruits go, new defensive coordinator Sam Siefkes will host some defensive players who could be big additions. So far, he has landed linebackerJoshua Pittman, and the last two commitments Virginia Tech has made were along the defensive line with Kamdon Gillespie and Kamren Johnson. That's a good start, and getting one or two visitors this weekend to commit in the future would be big.
