Last week was a big week in terms of recruiting for Virginia Tech football coach James Franklin. He landed three commitments in the Class of 2027 on the offensive side of the ball with a running back, tight end, and wide receiver.
Also, last week, offensive line coach Matt Moore made a visit to see four-star interior offensive lineman Carter Jones, the second-ranked interior offensive lineman in the Commonwealth according to Rivals. This is a player that Moore, Franklin, and the Hokies need to keep at home. Sunday night, it appears that they are not.
According to Hayes Fawcett, Jones is down to four schools: Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, and Penn State. This is a tough blow for the Hokies in terms of recruiting. We'll see where home ends up for Jones.
