Exit Light, Enter a Bowl Game?
By Roy Hatfield
Prepare for a comeuppance Virginia Tech fans. I hope you had a silent reflection of the title photo. We are going to lose against Virginia, and finish our season at 5-7. No bowls. No post-season accolades. Nothing. The 2024 Virginia Tech campaign was picked by some, namely Pat Mcafee. On paper, it made sense.
The Hokies had some of the biggest production returning in all of college football. We continually crap the bed and wondered why it wasn’t working. This is a sentence I was never prepared to write:
"We Suck"

It hurts me to write, but we do. Look at the film. Look at the explosives. Look at the meltdowns. Look at the “never showed ups”. We are, unequivocally, a walking disaster. We are often injured, and never ready, the laundry list of of excuses keeps expanding for Brent Pry.
The defensive mastermind from Penn State can’t stop anything through a tin horn, and here we are. I have said it before, NO MORE NIL MONEY for this program. He’s a good dude, everybody likes him. The guy is nothing for anything in one-possession games. We are pantsed weekly in prime-time matchups and it’s the same old story.
In the SEC, this guy would have been eaten three times over. Just because the coach has a lower standard, doesn’t mean we need to. This is Virginia Tech. We run things (or used to) but used to be players in the conversation. WE are so far removed from the ACC conversation that we are an afterthought. This is year three, not year one. If the Hokies are serious about football, fire him. He has three full years and we are the worst Hokies team I have seen in a decade.
