This weekend, the Virginia Tech football team has their first of two bye weeks of the 2024 season. Hokies fans can sit back and watch football on what is a college football fan's dream weekend of matchups. Here are some games that Virginia Tech fans can watch to get their football fix this weekend.

Nine college football games Virginia Tech fans should keep an eye on

Georgia Tech at North Carolina, 12 p.m., CW Network

Next week, the Hokies get a Thursday night home game against Boston College, but the weekend after that on Oct. 26, they will host a good Georgia Tech team led by quarterback Haynes King. The Yellow Jackets are on the rise in the ACC.

Penn State at USC, 3:30 p.m., CBS Sports

This is a huge test for James Franklin and his team heading out to California to play the Trojans.

Texas vs. Oklahoma, 3:30 p.m., ABC

This passionate rivalry will get their first battle as SEC members rather than Big 12 members. This game always sets itself up for a tremendous ending.

Louisville at Virginia, 3:30 p.m., ACC Network

The Cardinals have struggled this season and now they get a tough road test against the Cavaliers. If Virginia is as good as their record says they are, this is a game they must win.

Florida at Tennessee, 7 p.m., ESPN

You might be saying, why this game? Well, Florida is likely moving on from Bill Napier sooner rather than later and that could have an effect on the ACC coaching carousel.

Ohio State at Oregon, 7:30 p.m., NBC Peacock

Did you ever think we would see the day when Ohio State and Oregon would be a Big Ten game? Me either, however, this game is going to have massive conference implications when it comes to the first weekend in December.

Ole Miss at LSU, 7:30 p.m., ABC

Former Virginia Tech tight end Dae’Quan Wright has four catches for 62 yards and a touchdown for Ole Miss this season and this is still an interesting SEC matchup.

Syracuse at North Carolina State, 8 p.m., ACC Network

The Hokies will visit the Orange in early November and QB Kyle McCord, who threw for 355 yards on 63 attempts in an overtime win over UNLV last Friday night. Virginia Tech’s secondary will be tested by the Orange early and often in New York.

Kansas State at Colorado, 10:15 p.m., ESPN

Anytime Deion Sanders and the Buffs are on TV, it’s must-watch drama.

There is a small sampling of options for Hokies fans who have to get their college football craze this weekend and it’s only five nights until the Hokies are back in Lane Stadium hosting the Eagles.
