When the Virginia Tech football team takes the field on Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium to play Georgia Tech, it officially begins the second half of the season for the Hokies and James Franklin in his first season in Blacksburg.

Sitting at 4-2, Virginia Tech could easily be 6-0 instead of entering the game against the Yellow Jackets, but with three missed field goals and some shaky play from Brent Pry's defense, they are entering the game on a two-game losing streak. With six games remaining, let's predict the final six games for the Hokies and what a final record looks like.

Predicting Virginia Tech football's final 6 games

Saturday: vs. Georgia Tech, 3:30 p.m.

This is a game that the Hokies must win and really need to win. Georgia Tech is trending toward coming into the game banged up, but so was California last week, and well, we all know what happened, right? If they don't win this game, then there is no telling where the losing streak could end up.

Prediction: Win (5-2, 2-2 ACC)

Oct. 24: at Clemson, 7 of 7:30 p.m.

The ACC is banking on a pair of two-loss teams meeting next Saturday night in Death Valley by dropping this game in a primetime slot. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is on the hot seat, and Virginia Tech faces a daunting task heading into their bye week Halloween Weekend. Health will have a lot to do with it after this weekend's games, but the Hokies are a different-looking team away from Blacksburg.

Prediction: Loss (5-3, 2-3 ACC)

Nov. 6: at SMU, 7 p.m.

After a bye week, the Hokies head to Dallas, Texas, for an ACC matchup with the Mustangs. SMU has been a very difficult team to beat since joining the ACC, but they are even tougher at home. It will be nice heading into this game after a much-needed bye for Virginia Tech because having to deal with Mustangs quarterback Kevin Jennings could make for a long night.

Prediction: Loss (5-4, 2-4 ACC)

Nov. 14: vs. Stanford

If there is one game that's left on the schedule, there is literally no excuse for losing this game. A rebuilding Cardinal program flying East in the middle of November, and likely with nothing to play for. If Virginia Tech's backups aren't in this game at some point in the second half, it might be concerning.

Prediction: Win (6-4, 3-4 ACC)

Nov. 21: at Miami

Not much to say here. The Hurricanes are out to prove a point this season that they are the best team in the ACC, and there's a very good chance that they are undefeated heading into this game and on the path to a College Football Playoff bye.

Prediction: Loss (6-5, 3-5 ACC)

Nov. 28: vs. Virginia

This is going to be one of the better Commonwealth Clashes in a long time. Virginia Tech has owned the series for the last couple of decades, and last season, the Cavaliers won the game against the worst Hokies team in decades to clinch a berth in the ACC Championship Game. This game in Blacksburg is going to be the difference.

Prediction: Win (7-5, 4-5 ACC)

There you go, a 7-5 season is what we're predicting, and honestly, given everything that has happened in Franklin's first season, most Hokies fans would take that.
