When does Virginia Tech football start 2024 spring practice?
By Scott Roche
It's hard to believe, but we are almost two months from Virginia Tech beating Tulane, 41-20, in the Military Bowl. Yes, that's right, almost two full months. It doesn't seem like it's been that long, but it has been.
When it comes to the Hokies spring practice, there are a lot of reasons to be excited as there is a lot of buzz around the program, and rightfully so. Brent Pry is entering his third season in charge and he has excelled in the rebuild following Justin Fuente. His first season, Virginia Tech went 3-8, then this past season, things didn't start well, losing three of their first four games, all non-conference, but once ACC play began, things quickly changed.
The Hokies went 5-3 to reach bowl eligibility at 6-6 and beat the Green Wave to finish the season on a high note. What was even more important than the game was the extra practices that Pry and his staff got with their team to get an early start in 2024. During that time, Virginia Tech got commitments from several key players to return next season with quarterback Kyron Drones heading the list of key contributors returning, along with running back Bhayshu Tuten.
Last month, Virginia Tech welcomed some freshmen to campus along with transfers that could impact both sides of the ball in the fall.
When does Virginia Tech football begin 2024 spring practice?
Some schools will begin practice next week, however, according to Sports Illustrated, Virginia Tech will begin their practices on March 16, the only school scheduled to begin that day. It is going to be an interesting month of practice seeing how people can perform and what certain look like ahead of the season just four months later.
The end of practices will result in the Virginia Tech Spring Game, which we know will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
