Last week, Virginia Tech women’s basketball coach Megan Duffy picked up a huge commitment in the Class of 2025 when Katie Sears committed to the Hokies. Wednesday, another guard, Kamryn Kitchen, who reclassified to the Class of 2024, will announce her decision with Virginia Tech being one of the finalists.

Another Class of 2025 guard being heavily recruited is Bryn Martin, who plays at Springboro High School in Ohio, just north of Dayton. She has had nearly two dozen offers from some big-time programs and she has cut her list down to 10 schools and once again, the Hokies made the cut.

Virginia Tech makes Top 10 for Bryn Martin

Martin is a 6-foot-1 guard who does it all and led her school to the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division 1 state title this season after scoring 38 points in a state semifinal round victory. She averaged 20.8 points a game, shooting 41% from behind the arc, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 steals a night. She was a finalist for Miss Ohio Basketball.

Martin cut her list of 10 down to Louisville, Dayton, Ohio State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Clemson, Miami, Washington Illinois, and Virginia Tech. She also held offers from Stanford, Iowa, Butler, Marquette, North Carolina, Rutgers, BYU, Central Florida, and Pittsburgh among other schools.

It’s safe to say that the Hokies and Duffy have their work cut out for them when recruiting Martin with several ACC schools and even former coach Kenny Brooks and Kentucky getting into the mix in late April and offering her a scholarship.

Sears is a very good addition for Duffy and there is still work to be done with recruiting for the Class of 2025 starting to take off with visits and commitments. Martin has yet to set a commitment date.
