Virginia Tech Recruiting News: Huge decision looming for three-star recruit & more
By Scott Roche
Recruiting for the Class of 2025 has been very good for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry. Currently has 14 commits, two four-stars, and 10 are from the state of Virginia. The third-year Hokies coach is hoping to continue to make strides with recruiting in the Commonwealth going forward with the Class of 2026 and beyond.
Right now, Virginia Tech has one commit in the Class of 2026 with Nazareth, Pa. quarterback Peton Falzone committing to the Hokies on June 29. With a lot more targets in the class still out there, it appears that Pry and his staff are making an impression on some of them.
Class of 2026 DT JaySean Richardson is a sought-after player
In-state recruit JaySean Richardson has been racking up the offers and he currently holds 15 at the time this is being written. He does have one from Virginia Tech and he visited Blacksburg back in April for a Spring Practice.
The 6-foot-0, 280-pound Richardson is from Richmond, Va. is also drawing interest from ACC foes Wake Forest and Virginia early in the recruiting cycle. This will be a big fall season for rising juniors in taking in some games and Richarson will be taking gameday visits this season to Wake Forest, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Three-star edge has yet to make a decision
Three-star defensive edge Yvan Kemajou is one of the remaining Class of 2025 top defensive linemen still undecided and Virginia Tech is very much still in play for the Burtonsville, Maryland native who plays at Paint Branch.
The 17th-ranked player in Maryland according to 247Sports, visited Virginia Tech on June 21, his last in a busy month of visits. He also visited Penn State (May 31), Rutgers (June 7), Duke (June 14), and Indiana (June 18) before coming to Blacksburg. He is expected to make a decision sometime soon currently in the Class of 2025, the Hokies already have commitments from edge rushers Sherrod Henderson and Zeke Chinwike. Adding Kemajou would add more depth to a position that has become very big for Virginia Tech.
