It is safe to say that Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones broke out in 2023. He started in Week 3 at Rutgers for Grant Wells who was injured in Week 2 at home in a 24-17 loss to Purdue. The Baylor transfer rallied the Hokies offense from a 1-3 start to go 5-3 in ACC play to become bowl-eligible which was huge in the second year of Brent Pry.

In December, he announced he was coming back to Blacksburg for the 2024 season and expectations are high around Virginia Tech and a lot of it has to do with Drones. Spring practices begin for the Hokies soon, but that didn't stop Drones from heading south for a workout in Miami with two of the top quarterbacks this upcoming season.

Kyron Drones works out with Shedeur Sanders & Cam Ward

Drones was recently in Miami working out with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and new Miami quarterback Cam Ward, who transferred to the Hurricanes in the portal following last season from Washington State rather than entering the NFL Draft in April.

Drones was joined by fellow wide receiver teammates Da'Quan Felton and Ali Jennings.

All three signal callers are expected to be some of the top QBs in the 2025 Draft and Drones working out with Sanders and Ward will do nothing but help him for the upcoming season. Ward and Drones will be playing each other in September when the Hokies head down to Miami to open up conference play, but all three quarterbacks are players who should have a good season next fall.

Drones should take the next step in 2024 and working out with two of the top quarterbacks in the country next season is going to do nothing but help him and give him more confidence going forward.
