When the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team walked off the court in Columbus, Ohio on March 23 following a second-round NIT elimination at the hands of Ohio State, little did anyone know what was going to come. Or maybe some did.

What happened over the next week was a mass exodus from Blacksburg with players entering the transfer portal. Since that night, Lynn Kidd has entered and committed to Miami for next season and Tyler Nickel has entered and committed to Vanderbilt. Sean Pedulla and MJ Collins remain in the portal for now, Mylyjael Poteat entered but withdrew and is returning to the Hokies.

Mike Young and his staff are in the process of putting together a roster for next season and they already have two commitments from guard Jordan Ivy-Curry from UTSA and forward Ben Burnham from the College of Charleston. Now they will host a guard in the portal from Temple who is a veteran who can handle the ball and score.

Virginia Tech will host Temple guard Hysier Miller next week

Temple point guard Hysier MIller will take a visit with Virginia Tech on April 19, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Last season in 36 games for the Owls, Miller averaged 15.9 points a game, 3.6 rebounds, and 4 assists. He scored double-figures in 30 games last season, including 32 points in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game against UAB in a loss. He made the All-American Athletic Conference Tournament team as he nearly led Temple to an improbable run to the championship before coming up short against the Blazers.

Pedulla said in his announcement that he’s leaving the door open to return to Virginia Tech, but with each passing day, it seems less likely that it’s going to happen, but adding Miller along with Ivy-Curry would good replacements for Pedulla if Young can land Miller.
