Virginia Tech March Madness Schedule: When do the Hokies Play Next?
By Scott Roche
Game week in the NCAA Tournament for the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is here. After a long couple of weeks leading into Selection Sunday, the Hokies got the news they were hoping they would get, they were a Top 16 seed and a No. 4 seed, which means they will host the first and second rounds in Blacksburg.
The big question surrounding the game is the health and availability of three-time ACC Player of the Year Elizabeth Kitley. She has not been on the floor in a game since March 3 when she suffered a lower leg injury in the third quarter of a loss at Virginia. Virginia Tech head coach Kenny Brooks ruled her out of the ACC Tournament, but she has not been ruled out of the NCAA Tournament. We may not find out until right before the tip of their first game.
When does Virginia Tech women’s basketball play in the NCAA Tournament?
Virginia Tech is in the Portland 3 Regional as the No. 4 seed and will host Sun Belt Tournament champion Marshall Friday at Cassell Coliseum at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2. The Thundering Hurd are going to be a tough matchup as they like to get up and down the floor with a quick pace and shoot a lot of 3-pointers.
If the Hokies are able to win and advance, they will play their second-round game Sunday at Cassell Coliseum.
