Leading into their first game of the ACC Tournament, the question surrounding the Virginia Tech women's basketball team was whether or not three-time ACC Player of the Year, Elizabeth Kitley was going to be able to play after suffering a knee injury in the third quarter of Sunday's loss at Virginia.

After nearly a week of speculation, head coach Kenny Brooks told Evan Hughes of the Virginia Tech Sports Network that she will miss the ACC Tournament this weekend in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her status for the NCAA Tournament in a couple of weeks will be re-evaluated next week.

The NCAA Tournament brackets don't come out until March 17 and it would be very surprising if Virginia Tech announced if Kitley will be in or out of the tournament as a loss to Miami in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament might have an impact on their seeding in the Top 4 and the ability to host a first and second round in Blacksburg.

In Kitley's place, University of Minnesota transfer Rose Micheaux started in her place and she hasn't appeared in a game since January.
