Hunter Cattoor rebounds in second summer league game
Former Virginia Tech guard Hunter Cattoor had a tough night in his first Las Vegas Summer League game Friday afternoon, missing all four of his field goal attempts, all 3-pointers, for the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Orlando Magic, but he rebounded and had a better Game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Cattoor had seven points, making two of his field goal attempts and three assists in the Cavaliers 112-81 victory. Cleveland returns to action Wednesday night at 10 p.m. against the Golden State Warriors on NBA TV.
Keve Aluma and the Philadelphia 76ers will play their second game in Las Vegas on Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers at 8:30 p.m. on NBA TV. Aluma is coming a 19-point, eight-rebound performance in a victory over the Detroit Pistons Saturday night.
ACC football media day just over a week away
It's hard to believe, but ACC Football Media Days begin next week in Charlotte. Virginia Tech will be available on Tuesday, July 23 on Day 2 of the four-day event. Joining them that day are California, Pittsburgh, Stanford, and Virginia. It will be interesting to see where things stand when everyone meets in Charlotte when it comes to realignment with Clemson and Florida State still looking to leave the conference.
MLB Draft enters Day 2
Round 1 and 2 of the 2024 MLB Draft was completed Sunday night with no Virginia Tech player selected. Monday, rounds 3-10 will take place beginning at 2 p.m., then rounds 11-20 will be Tuesday, also starting at 2 p.m. Expect some Hokies to hear their names called over the next two days.
