June is a very busy month in terms of recruiting for college football. Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry and his staff have several visits lined up for the month with some big-named recruits making their way to Blacksburg.

While most of the visits are official, some are unofficial and that will be the case when one of the top defensive linemen recruits in the Class of 2026 comes to Virginia Tech this month.

Virginia Tech to host 4-star OL Elijah Golden

Four-star defensive lineman Elijah Golden, a Top 20 overall prospect nationally in the Class of 2026, will take an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech on June 20, one of five he has lined up according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Golden plays at powerhouse IMG Academy in Florida, He is the 18th overall player in the Class of 2026, the No. 2 defensive lineman in the country, and the No. 3 prospect in his class in Florida. His other unofficial visits are Notre Dame (June 12), Indiana (June 13), Ohio State (June 17), and North Carolina (June 23).

Golden was recently named one of the top performers at the Under Armour Next Camp in Baltimore.

"Golden is the third Top-20 prospect in the 2026 cycle to earn top performer honors with the IMG Academy product consistently disrupting the pocket due to his fluid movement patterns and ability to quickly redirect. When Golden wasn't varying his tempo to keep offensive linemen off balance, he would simply overpower them with his initial punch and quickly separate to get past. Interior defensive linemen with true pass-rushing upside are rare to find, and while he's still putting the pieces together we love what we've seen to this point with Golden."

Golden is clearly one of the top and heavily sought-after recruits in the Class of 2026 and Virginia Tech getting an unofficial visit is key, something that may not have happened a few years ago.
