Kickers John Love & Pete Moore named to preseason award watch list
The preseason award watch lists continue to roll in ahead of the 2024 season for Virginia Tech and the latest to get added to a watch list was kicker John Love who was named to the Lou Groza Watch List. The award is given annually to the top college placekicker. He has been very good for the Hokies and it's not surprising to see him make the preseason watch list.
Punter Peter Moore was named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List which is given annually to college football's most outstanding punter. It's safe to say that the Hokies are set in the kicking game for the upcoming season.
Class of 2025 recruit picks South Carolina over Virginia Tech
Friday a four-star recruit from Virginia, Kendall Daniels, made his decision and he picked South Carolina over the Hokies, Virginia, Clemson, and Penn State. The 6-foot-3 safety from Norfolk visited the Gamecocks on June 21 and was won over by head coach Shane Beamer.
It was thought that it ultimately came down to South Carolina and Virginia Tech, but he decided heading to the SEC rather than staying home in the Commonwealth.
