The Virginia Tech football team is all set under center for the 2024 season with Kyron Drones, Collin Schlee, and Pop Watson currently in the quarterback room. This summer, they’ll be joined by incoming freshman Davi Belfort. After this season, there are some questions as to who will be in Blacksburg, and head coach Brent Pry is preparing for the future in the Class of 2025.

Currently, the Hokies commit is from DeSoto (Texas) in signal caller Kelden Ryan, and Virginia Tech is currently in the running for a pair of QBs from that class. This past weekend, they hosted one of the two recruits after hosting the other one earlier this spring.

Virginia Tech is in the running for Class of 2025 QBs Malik Washington & AJ Brand

This past weekend, three-star quarterback AJ Brand was in Blacksburg for a visit and you have to think that he has become a priority for Pry and offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen. The 20th-ranked player in the Class of 2024 in the state of South Carolina according to 247Sports, Brand threw for nearly 3,000 yards last fall and 45 touchdowns. He added 1,113 rushing yards and 17 more touchdowns.

Back in April, Malik Washington, a four-star QB from Severn, Maryland, was “very high” on Virginia Tech after a visit during the Hokies Spring Game and he visited Syracuse this past weekend as one of the other teams that are recruiting the Archbishop Spalding talent very hard. He also had a visit scheduled in two weeks at Maryland.

Washington is on record with rivals as wanting to commit next month, while a decision from Brand is also expected this summer with the Hokies in the mix. Will either pick Virginia Tech? That remains to be seen, but both an outstanding talents who would come in and immediately battle for the job with Watson and Belfort.
