Virginia Tech football gets commitment from three-star athlete who has program ties
By Scott Roche
For the second time in three days, the Virginia Tech football team added to their Class of 2025 with another talented athlete. After getting what was a late and surprising commitment from four-star wide receiver Shamarius Peterkin from North Carolina who picked the Hokies over ACC foes North Carolina and North Carolina State. The signs were there that Virginia Tech was making a late push and ended up making a good push to get the commitment.
Sunday, the Hokies got another commitment from three-star athlete Luke Stuewe from Ohio. He is a legacy recruit and is the son of Michael Stuewe, who was a wide receiver for Virginia Tech from 1994-97.
Virginia Tech secures commitment from three-star Luke Stuewe
Stuewe picked the Hokies' over Miami (Ohio) and it ended a year long recruiting scene for him after he received an offer from Virginia Tech last summer and Miami of Ohio this summer. You get the feeling that it was a rather easy decision for him where he gets to play where his father did in a storied program.
He has an older brother currently playing for the Ohio Bobcats at wide receiver, Matt, and Luke had 17 receptions for 317 yards before suffering an injury after just four games. He also plays safety on the defensive side of the ball and it could not be out of the question that he gets some reps on that side down the line. He had four picks last fall before his injury.
Stuewe is the 17th commit in the Class of 2025 for Virginia Tech and the 13th three-star commit, while the Hokies also have four 4-star commits in the class. Pry and Fontel Mines and the staff continue to build a strong class for the future.
