Virginia Tech making last-second push for four-star Class of 2025 wide receiver
By Scott Roche
Recruiting for the Class of 2025 has been going well for Virginia Tech and head coach Brent Pry. Currently, the Hokies have 15 commits, 11 from Virginia, but they have lost out on some in-state recruits to Maryland and other schools.
One Class of 2025 recruit is closing in on a decision for next season and it was thought that North Carolina State had the inside track to the in-state recruit. Still, Anna Adams of 247Sports is not quite yet ready to make a Crystal Ball Prediction because of some things she has picked up that have to do with Virginia Tech making a late push.
Virginia Tech reportedly making a push for four-star wide receiver Snook Peterkin
Adams spoke earlier this week and was about to make a Crystal Ball Prediction in favor of NC State for Shamarius "Snook" Peterkin, but obviously with some things she's picked up on, she's not ready to officially make the prediction.
"Haven’t entered a State pick yet for 4-star WR Snook Peterkin, who announces tomorrow at his school. Have obviously felt positive about the Pack’s chances for a while now, but haven’t had enough to go in on a pick down the stretch. Yesterday and again this morning have picked up on some things that makes me believe VT is still making this a battle to the end. We will see."

As Adams wrote, Peterkin will make his decision tomorrow. It's not surprising to see the Hokies making a late push as Fontel Mines has been instrumental in recruiting for Pry and Virginia Tech this season and it's led to some big commitments.
According to 247Sports, Peterkin's final three schools are Virginia Tech, North Carolina and NC State and if the Hokies are able to get the North Carolina native away from both schools, that would be a rather big recruiting win.
