It's been two weeks since the NBA held their annual Draft and now with the calendar turning to the middle of July, that means only one thing for basketball lovers, it's time for the Las Vegas Summer League to take place. The major offseason week-plus of action in Nevada comes days after the annual Utah Summer League finished up.

Virginia Tech fans will be able to watch a pair of former Hokies take part in Las Vegas beginning Friday as Hunter Cattoor will suit up for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Keve Aluma will play for the Philadelphia 76ers. Aluma will be entering Las Vegas coming off a very good Utah Summer League where he stood out for the 76ers.

Cleveland and Philadelphia are not currently scheduled to play each other, unless they meet at the end of the tournament in the playoffs, but each player will get at least four scheduled games in Las Vegas. Here is the schedule for both the Cavaliers and the 76ers.

Philadelphia 76ers Las Vegas Schedule

  • Saturday, July 13: vs. Detroit Pistons, Thomas & Mack Center, 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
  • Monday, July 15: vs. Portland Trail Blazers, Thomas & Mack Center, 8:30 p.m. (NBA TV)
  • Tuesday, July 16: vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, Cox Pavilion, 8 p.m. (ESPN2)
  • Friday, July 19: vs. San Antonio Spurs, Thomas & Mack Center, 8:30 p.m. (NBA TV)

Cleveland Cavaliers Las Vegas Schedule

  • Friday, July 12: vs. Orlando Magic, Cox Pavilion, 4 p.m. (NBA TV)
  • Sunday, July 14: vs. Milwaukee Bucks, Cox Pavilion, 3:30 p.m. (NBA TV)
  • Wednesday: July 17: vs. Golden State Warriors, Cox Pavilion, 10 p.m. (NBA TV)
  • Thursday, July 18: vs. Los Angeles Lakers, Thomas & Mack Center, 9 p.m. (ESPN)

This is a big opportunity for both players to make an impression to try and earn a spot on an NBA roster for the 2024-25 season and it should be a fun week-plus of basketball in Las Vegas.
