The term "priority recruit'' is used sometimes in terms of a college football program that goes all-out to land a prized recruit. When "priority recruit" is used with five-star safety Faheem Delane, it truly is a "priority recruit'' recruit for Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry and his staff.

Wednesday night, Faheem Delane from Olney, Maryland, announced on X that he has locked in his visit date for Virginia Tech, which will be June 21-23. If there is someone who is already connected with the Hokies program, it's the Class of 2025 star from Our Lady Good Counsel High School.

Faheem's older brother, Mansoor, is currently playing at Virginia Tech, and back in December, he announced on X that he was returning for the 2024 season, one of many key pieces that Pry and his staff have coming back on both sides of the ball.

According to 247Sports, Faheem is the No. 1 safety in the Class of 2025 and the No. 25 player overall. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder has offers from several of the top programs in the country and according to the Crystal Ball at 247Sports, Ohio State is predicted as who will be the winner when he makes his decision. He has ACC offers from Boston College, Florida State, Miami, Pittsburgh, and the Hokies.

Pry has already put together an early Class of 2025 that includes quarterback Kelden Ryan from Texas, offensive lineman Carter Stallard from Virginia and earlier this month, Virginia Beach natives and Green Run teammates Jayden Anderson, a wide receiver, and Knahlij Harrell both committed to Virginia Tech.

Earlier on Wednesday, Class of 2025 recruit Micah Matthews announced that he locked in a visit to Virginia Tech on June 7-9. Once the calendar turns to June, practices for the 2024 Virginia Tech season will be a month-and-a-half away, but it will also be a very month in terms of hosting recruits from the Class of 2025.
