Recruiting has been very good as of late for Virginia Tech football head coach Brent Pry and his staff. The Class of 2025 is starting to come together with four huge commitments already. Quarterback Kelden Ryan from Texas has committed, while the Hokies have landed three in-state recruits in offensive lineman Carter Stallard, along with a pair of Green Run High School teammates Knahlij Harrell and Jayden Anderson from Virginia Beach announced in February that were going to play their college football in Blacksburg.
Thursday, a three-star running back from Virginia announced four visit dates and the final school on the list is Virginia Tech.
Jeffery Overton to visit Virginia Tech in June
Jeffrey Overton, a three-star talented running back from Woodbridge and Freedom High School announced on X that he will be visiting Virginia Tech from June 21-23. This will not be the first time he’s visited Blacksburg as he was on campus for the season-opener against Old Dominion last fall, then made another earlier this year.

Overton, who was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Virginia, posted on X in January about his visit to Virginia Tech and the 5-foot-10, 187-pound shifty back is certainly a focus of Pry and his staff. According to Rivals.com, he’s the 22nd-ranked player in Virginia and is a good pass catcher out of the backfield.
