It was a very quiet 2024 NFL Draft back in April in Detroit with no Virginia Tech players selected. That could change drastically for the Hokies come next April in Green Bay.

The quiet draft for Virginia Tech three months ago was in part because some of the players who would have likely had their names called decided to come back for one more season in Blacksburg. The extra season in college is going to raise the draft stock for some of their players and one college football analyst, Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, thinks the Hokies are "loaded with draftable talent this fall" and there have been positive reviews from across the league this summer.

Fowler listed eight members of the 2024 Virginia Tech team as players who are going to get a lot of interest this season from scouts who will be out in force ahead of the 2025 Draft.

Cornerbacks Dorian Strong and Mansoor Delane could have entered the draft this past April and likely would have been selected, but they decided to run it back for another season in Blacksburg. Kyron Drones has an opportunity to raise his draft stock this fall with a full season after taking over full-time in Week 3 last fall for the injured Grant Wells. He will have a fully healthy Ali Jennings this season and with Jaylin Lane already having a full season under his belt after coming over last season from Middle Tennessee State, as will Norfolk State transfer Da'Quan Felton.

On the defensive side, Aeneas Peebles could have entered the draft himself after last season at Duke, but with another season of eligibility left, he chose to add to a defensive line for coordinator Chris Marve and head coach Brent Pry that returns Antwaun Powell-Ryland and his 9.5 sacks from last fall.

There is no doubt that Virginia Tech has some talent that scouts are going to keep an eye on this season and next April in Green Bay should be a busy weekend for Hokies' fans keeping track of which players end up getting drafted into the NFL and by which teams.
