The wait for former Virginia Tech football star, Bhayshul Tuten is over, and it was a wait that lasted longer than the running back would have liked, but he finally heard his name called at the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon. He was selected with the second pick in the fourth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If there was one player who increased his draft stock leading into Green Bay, it was Tuten. He had a great NFL Combine where he opened a lot of eyes with his 40-yard dash time and his overall workouts. He also impressed and got on a lot of teams’ radars during the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, in January.

After transferring to Virginia Tech from North Carolina A&T, Tuten had two outstanding seasons for the Hokies. After rushing for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023, he rushed for 1,153 yards and 15 touchdowns this past season, all while dealing with an ankle injury in the second half of the season.

Bhayshul Tuten finds home with the Jacksonville Jaguars

Tuten finds home in the AFC South with the Jaguars and quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He’ll also be joining former Colorado star and Heisman winner Travis Hunter, who was picked No. 2 overall on Thursday night after they traded up with the Cleveland Browns to get him. That move sent shock waves through the rest of the draft.

Tuten is a playmaker who has breakaway speed when he gets into the second level on defense, and he is also tough to bring down. If there is one area of his game where he needs to improve, it’s holding onto the ball, which has been a struggle for Jacksonville backs recently. Ideally, he could have been a late second or early third round pick, but there is no doubt that Tuten found a home with an up-and-coming organization that is looking to battle with the Houston Texans next season for the top spot.
