Even before arriving in Indianapolis for the 2025 NFL Combine, former Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten was receiving some headlines for the running back class for this year's draft. Prior to the Combine, he was one of two Hokies listed as sleepers to watch and he was also listed as a player who could rise into the first round of the draft in Green Bay with a solid showing.
Virginia Tech had six players at the Combine and most of them impressed in their workouts. When it came to Tuten, not only did he have an impressive showing, he put teams on notice that raised his draft stock. He did so well that he was named to the 2025 All-Combine Offensive Team by the NFL.

Virginia Tech RB Bhayshul Tuten named to all-combine team for offense
Tuten was impressive, to say the least. During his 4.32 second 40-yard dash, he ran a faster time than current NFL players in Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (4.36 seconds) and Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (4.40). That's some impressive company to join and run faster than.
Tuten also scored the highest vertical jump for running backs and was second in the broad jump. Factor all of that together, there is no doubt that he improved his draft stock and was one of the top talked about running backs in Indy.
At Virginia Tech, he proved to be a back that can cause a lot of problems for defenses. He was tough to bring down on first contact and when in the open field, he had the speed to break away from defenders as we saw against Boston College and Virginia.
Did he raise his stock enough to go in the first round? Time will tell, but he certainly rose on most teams' boards going into the draft and it wouldn't be surprising to see him in the second round at least when all is said and done.
