After a week that saw a coaching change and the Virginia Tech football team pick up its first win with a win over Wofford, the Hokies will begin ACC play on Saturday night when they travel to Raleigh to play North Carolina State.
The Wolfpack comes into the game off a 12-point loss at Duke for their first loss of the season, 45-33, and will look to rebound against a Hokies' team that will have a roster that could change from week to week. On Tuesday, interim coach Philip Montgomery said that a depth chart for this week's game was going to be released at a later date because of questions surrounding the roster. That likely means there are going to be some decisions coming up for some players on whether or not to redshirt and enter the Transfer Portal or not.
The final eight games of the 2025 season for 1-3 Virginia Tech will all be conference games and are going to be difficult as the program goes through some major changes over the next couple of months. Tuesday, Bruce Arians joined The Pat McAfee Show and laid out a promising outlook for the short-term future in terms of turning things around.
