As the 2025 NFL Draft came and went in late April in Green Bay, former Virginia Tech wide receiver Stephen Gosnell was waiting patiently to hear his name, which was never called. Following the draft, he agreed to a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills, reuniting him with former Hokies teammate Dorian Strong, who was selected by the AFC East powerhouse.
Gosnell has the odds stacked against him to break camp with Buffalo, however, Bills fans got a glimpse of what he can do at training camp on Tuesday when he hauled in a 50-yard bomb from quarterback Josh Allen, which even got him pumped up.

During offense vs. defense drills on Tuesday, Gosnell went deep and Allen dropped a dime to him in the corner of the end zone behind two defenders. After he caught the pass, he had his usual celebration where he threw the ball in the air.

The reviews from the Buffalo beat writers in attendance were nothing but rave reviews, and he is certainly someone to keep an eye on when preseason games begin in full next week.

You could make the case that Gosnell wasn't used enough when he played for Virginia Tech, but when his number was called by former offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen, he made some impressive and highlight-reel catches. Virginia Tech fans know how valuable he was the last couple of seasons.
Gosnell is the second former Virginia Tech wide receiver to make an early name for himself in camp, as Jaylin Lane is already turning heads with the Washington Commanders. Gosnell has an opportunity to stick with a Super Bowl contender with a good camp and preseason. He's off to a good start a week into training camp in Western New York.
