Two weeks ago, the Virginia Tech football team hosted a slew of recruits in Blacksburg, with one of them being a priority with family ties to the program. Three-star safety Nick Reddish, younger brother of current Hokies Quentin and Joseph, took his official visit. A highly-sought after player from North Carolina, it appears that Nick is trending toward one school that is not named Virginia Tech.
Nick Reddish is the 21st-ranked player according to 247Sports in North Carolina, had three Crystal Ball predictions from 247Sports, and all three were for him landing at Notre Dame, which in the overall big picture, would not be surprising.
Crystal Ball prediction has Virginia Tech losing to out powerhouse program
The Reddish's hail from Charlotte, and Quentin, a safety, is expected to have a big role for Brent Pry and Virginia Tech this season, while Joseph, a cornerback, transferred from Wingate to Virginia Tech and will be a player worth keeping an eye on once camp begins.
Nick also visited Wisconsin and Indiana, but it appears that Notre Dame is the leading contender for him, and another recruiting loss for Pry and his staff, which has had mixed results in recruiting over the last week.
Virginia Tech has lost four-star wide receiver Carnell Warren, but they have gotten three commitments since then, with defensive linemen KJ Gillespie and Kamren Johnson committing. The Hokies also got a commitment from offensive linemen Buddy Wegdam. Four-star edge Elijah Littlejohn picked Penn State over Virginia Tech.
As far as Nick Reddish, who plays at Independence High School, is concerned, he is the No. 661 player per 247Sports Composite Rankings, and the 57th-ranked safety in the Class of 2026. At the time this article is being written, the Hokies have five commitments in the Class of 2026.
