Bet the Mortgage: Miami Hurricanes Fall to Georgia Tech

Oh, how the mighty have fallen (will fall?). The bell will finally toll against a fraudulent Miami Hurricanes club on Saturday in Atlanta. After Miami was ranked in the top 5 in the first college playoff poll, I started thinking that the 2024 Miami Hurricanes are a complete and total fraud.

Much like Deion Sanders, I have kept the receipts. Normally, I watch all of college football I can get my hands on. I have a focus on the ACC, but I enjoy watching weird SEC battles. I spent an absolute pile load of money buying tickets and traveling to witness firsthand the #miamiscrewjob . I don’t mind pulling out the cabbage to support my team.

When I saw them pull off a repeat performance against Cal, I started buying into the tinfoil conspiracies. “The ACC wants Miami to be “back” so damn the torpedoes.” The ACC will never sacrifice the ‘Canes in the interest of honest play. What the hell college football? Miami is not that good. If you removed Cam Ward from the squad, they would be .500 at best. The defense is on par with Virginia Tech. By that I mean they give up too many explosives and routinely give up chunk yardage. Yet, here we are.

Enter the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Haynes King, who didn't play against Virginia Tech, is likely playing this Saturday. If Georgia Tech has one functional brain cell they will take the air out of the ball. If you still have it in the DVR, watch that gamelan against Florida State. Own the time of possession and let the lines dictate the game. Keep the ball out of Cam Ward’s hands and “Run The BAWL”.
