Monday night, the ACC released the full football schedules for each team for the 2025 season. We knew that Virginia Tech was going to have seven home games this upcoming fall and five road games. However, only four of those games away from Blacksburg are going to be true road games with the season opener against South Carolina being in Atlanta.
We already knew nearly half of the Hokies schedule before it was released Monday night with the four non-conference dates being locked in as well as the annual Commonwealth Cup being held in Charlottesville on Thanksgiving Weekend this season after Virginia Tech rolled over their rivals this season. Last Friday, the ACC released the first conference game for each team and for Virginia Tech, which will be at North Carolina State.
As far as the rest of the schedule for ACC games goes, there were some questions. One was, who was going to be the Thursday night matchup at Lane Stadium and when was the game with Miami going to be, on a Thursday or Friday night or a Saturday? Last season, Boston College visited on a Thursday night and the Hokies’ game at Miami was held on a Friday night. We finally got all of those answers late Monday night.
