We are over seven months from the 2025 college football season, which is a long time away. We still have the National Championship Game this Monday night between Notre Dame and Ohio State. While those two teams still have one game left, all other schools are looking ahead to next fall.

As far as the Virginia Tech football team goes, they will once again play all four of their non-conference games before they begin ACC play. After playing Vanderbilt, Marshall, Old Dominion, and Rutgers last season, the non-conference schedule will look a little different in 2025. All four dates for their non-conference have been set.

Four dates set for 2025 Virginia Tech football schedule

The ACC has yet to announce the dates for their conference games that should be coming out soon. As far as Virginia goes, there is no official date according to Virginia Tech, we all know where that game will be placed, on Thanksgiving Weekend in Charlottesville. Here are the four dates that are set for the Hokies next September.

  • Aug. 31: vs. South Carolina (at Atlanta)
  • Sept. 6: vs. Vanderbilt
  • Sept. 13: vs. Old Dominion
  • Sept. 20: vs. Wofford

Aside from Virginia, the Hokies will travel to North Carolina State, Florida State, and Georgia Tech. The four ACC games in Blacksburg are against Miami, Louisville, California, and Wake Forest. The dates for those games will be announced at a later date, as well as times.

With three non-conference games at home inside Lane Stadium and the game against Shane Beamer and South Carolina in Atlanta, the Hokies will not play a true road game in the non-conference schedule. They also get seven of their 12 games at home, which could be to their benefit, but the schedule won't be easy at home beginning with Diego Pavia and Vanderbilt in a rematch of this season’s opener in Nashville, which the Commodores won in overtime.
