ACC Power Rankings After Week 7: Clemson rules top spot ahead of Miami again
By Scott Roche
There were not many ACC teams this weekend, but boy, what a weekend it was. Virginia Tech had their first of two byes along with Boston College and Miami, but the games made it a fun weekend of college football.
Virginia lost 24-20 at home to Louisville in a back-and-forth second half and Pittsburgh remained undefeated after California missed a potential game-winning field goal in the final minute. The wildest game of the day was in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where Georgia Tech scored late for a 41-34 win over the Tar Heels. Syracuse held off North Carolina State,24-17, to improve to 5-1 in Year 1 of Fran Brown, Clemson blasted Wake Forest and Stanford was blown out at Notre Dame.
As we look ahead to Week 8 that will begin Thursday night when Boston College comes to Blacksburg for an interesting game between two teams that are in need of a victory, here is this week's edition of the ACC Football Power Rankings.

This upcoming week is going to be a busy one in the ACC. After BC visits Lane Stadium on Thursday night, on Friday night, Florida State will travel to Duke in a battle between teams going in opposite directions. This feels like a get right game for the Seminoles, but the Blue Devils will have something to say about that.
Saturday there is a full slate of games with Miami traveling to Louisville and Virginia at Clemson. Wake Forest will look to rebound from their blowout loss at home to Clemson at Connecticut in a tricky non-conference game. Notre Dame will travel to Georgia Tech, NC State will head out to California and SMU will play at Stanford in a battle of first-year ACC members. Expect another wild weekend in the ACC.
