In this edition of Virginia Tech News, a wide receiver confirmed he was entering the transfer portal, a recruit narrows his choice, and more.

Virginia Tech WR Da’Wain Felton makes his transfer portal official

It was reported Tuesday that Virginia Tech wide receiver Da’Wain Felton was going to enter the transfer portal and Wednesday, he made it official with an announcement on X.

His playing time got less and less this season with the addition of a trio of wide receivers in the transfer portal last offseason. Despite Ali Jennings going down with an injury in Week 2 at home against Purdue, he was never able to into the flow of the offense.

Felton joins cornerback Derrick Canteen, offensive lineman Johnny Dickson, tight end Dae’Quan Wright, and running back Bryce Duke in the transfer portal from this season’s team.

Hokies are a finalist for 3-star football recruit

Three-star recruit wide receiver Jayden Anderson announced on X that he has narrowed his college choices down to six teams with Virginia Tech being one of the finalists.

Anderson said on X that he appreciated every school that took time in the recruiting process, but he had narrowed his choices down to Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Auburn, West Virginia, Maryland, and South Carolina.

Wide receiver is a position of need for Virginia Tech in the future and getting Anderson would be a huge win for Brent Pry and his staff. He is a Virginia native from Virginia Beach and getting him to come to Blacksburg would be a big win for in-state recruiting.

Hokies remain a favorite in the Military Bowl

According to DraftKings, the Hokies are a 7.5 favorite against Tulane in the Military Bowl. That is a little surprising, but before the game in three weeks, the line is expected to move and most likely will.
