Coming off of the most complete game so far in the Brent Pry era, the Virginia Tech football team will hit the road for their second ACC game of the season, this one at fifth-ranked Florida State on Saturday. This will be hands down the toughest game they will play all season in the toughest environment.

The Seminoles are contenders for the national championship and unless something wacky happens, they should be playing in the College Football Playoff Semifinals on New Year’s Eve. They have tremendous talent all over the field and will cause matchup problems for the Hokies. Here is a preview of the Week 6 matchup in Tallahassee.

Virginia Tech at No.5 Florida State, odds, spread and total

As I write this article, according to DraftKings the Hokies are a 24-point underdog, down one point from the opening lie on Sunday. The over/under is 53.

Virginia Tech at No. 5 Florida State, Players to Watch

Virginia Tech

Bhayshul Tuten, RB: One week after offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen committed to the running game, will he do it again? Tuten rushed for 109 yards and caught a 12-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter on a screen pass from quarterback Kyron Drones. It was the best game the Hokies got from Tuten and there is no reason to go away from him this week.

Florida State

Jordan Travis, QB: The Seminoles offense starts with Travis at quarterback and everything goes through him. He has skilled position players who are capable of making a big play at any point and Travis is just as dangerous with his arm and legs. If the Hokies are going to pull a major upset, they will have to limit the big plays by the Florida State offense and get off the field on third down.

Virginia Tech at No. 5 Florida State Prediction

This is going to be one of those games where if you’re Pry and Hokies, the number one goal should be getting back on the plan to go back to Blacksburg healthy with no major injuries. They have already been hit with key injuries and can’t afford anymore. Florida State’s speed will be too much for Tech and with the Seminoles coming off of a bye, they are going to be a hungry team. Not a good combination for the Hokies. Prediction: Florida State 45, Virginia Tech 10
