Virginia Tech football hasn’t played these Pac-12 schools

The Pac-12 is on the verge of total collapse and maybe that’s good news for the Hokies. In their long and storied history, they’ve only played four games against the conference’s current twelve members and lost each of those contests.

There’s uncertainty about the future of some of these teams, but we do know that Virginia Tech is scheduled to play Arizona in 2029. There’s no telling when Arizona State will find its way onto its schedule, but it’s difficult to have regular games against opponents on the other coast of the country.

A recent re-addition to the Big 12, Colorado also hasn’t faced the Hokies and they’ve never played Utah either. It would certainly be much easier to just talk about the teams Virginia Tech has played in this league, but of course, that’s not our point today.

Finishing things off, the Hokies have played zero games against the four teams in the Pacific Northwest, meaning they have not played Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, or Washington State. These programs have all had quality years in recent memory; perhaps a bowl game down the line will allow some of these matchups to happen.
