Believe it or not, Virginia Tech football has never played these FBS teams

Virginia Tech football hasn’t played these AAC schools

There have been many changes in the AAC in recent years, meaning this is a list that would have looked very different a few seasons ago. As it stands, the Hokies haven’t faced six current programs in the league, including a few of the new members.

It’s a conference that’s only been around for a decade, but Virginia Tech has at some point played every founding member of the league except for South Florida. They’ve actually played more than a dozen games against both East Carolina and Temple, though most of those games clearly came prior to their AAC days.

Six new programs joined the AAC this offseason and the Hokies have never faced five of them, specifically Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Rice, and UTSA, all recent members of Conference USA.

Independents

There isn’t a long list of current FBS independents, but the Hokies have played all of them except for UMass, having not found a way to get the Minutemen onto their schedule.
