The 184-pound graduate student comes to Blacksburg for his final season of eligibility after wrestling for five seasons in Ann Arbor. Bullock is Tony Robie’s third transfer addition, after Maryland standout Ethen Miller and SoCon Champion from Chattanooga Sergio Desiante both arrived on campus earlier this spring.
Bullock originally committed to wrestle for the Hokies back in 2020 after graduating from Oscar Smith High School, where he won back-to-back state titles. He later switched his commitment to Michigan.
In five seasons for the Wolverines, Bullock notched an overall record of 59-40. In 2024, he earned his first NCAA qualifier bid after finishing 4th in the Big 10 championships. This past season, Bullock again earned an NCAA qualification bid after finishing 9th in the conference tournament.
During his two best seasons at Michigan– 2021-22 and 2023-24– Bullock excelled at securing bonus point wins, as he earned 11 and 10 during those time frames, respectively. Of his 59 career wins, a little over half of them were by bonus points. He’ll look to bounce back after a disappointing 2025 campaign in which he went 13-13 on the year.
Bullock’s addition to Virginia Tech’s lineup adds much-needed depth at the 184-pound weight class following the departure of TJ Stewart. He should provide a veteran presence to the Hokies’ locker room and will look to improve the performance of Virginia Tech’s heavyweights after a sluggish showing in postseason action this past season; all four of the Hokies’ ACC Champions came from their lightweight ranks. Consequently, Bullock’s addition is likely intended to shore up the top half of the lineup.
Their lineup now complete, the Hokies’ wrestling room should be in its final form for offseason workouts in preparation to defend Virginia Tech’s 2025 ACC Championship during the upcoming campaign.
