Two of the top wrestling programs in the country met on Sunday afternoon inside Cassell Coliseum when No. 3 Oklahoma State visited No. 6 Virginia Tech. It was a rematch of last season match in Stillwater where the Cowboys beat the Hokies.
It was a tremendous rematch on Sunday afternoon between two outstanding programs, but when the dust settled, Oklahoma State was able to escape with a 19-12 win. The loss dropped the Hokies to 10-3 with one ACC match remaining on Friday night against Duke at home.

There were some very good and entertaining bouts throughout the match, with maybe the most exciting one being Sonny Sasso at 197 for Virginia Tech coming back to beat Cody Miller of Oklahoma State. There was a review in the third period that gave Sasso two points for an escape, which ended up being the difference. As usual, Eddie Ventresca got the Hokies rolling with a win by decision, 2-1, in a tiebreaker.
The Hokies clinched a tie for the ACC Championship on Friday night with a win over North Carolina, and they can clinch the title outright with a win over Duke this Friday night.
